Think about those moments in your life, from a very young child up until now when you experienced shame. Notice how your body language might shift to feeling heavy or you may experience an unpleasant feeling in the gut or heart…
Shame is problematic and tricky because it tells us stories such as we’re not good enough, that our mistakes define us, that we’ve ruined everything, that we’re awful people, that everyone will always think badly of us. We become ridden with guilt and it feels toxic.
But the simple truth is that making mistakes is how we learn. Most all of us have royally stuffed up at least once in our lives… it’s from here that we learn deeply about humility. We learn the value of true friendships and have a new level of gratitude for those who show unconditional kindness in our dark moments. We discover the untapped stores of strength we can access to rebuild and rise from the depths of despair. We also learn to go easy on being so judgemental when others trip.
The collection of shame inducing traumas (big & small) add up over a life-time. They carry a weight and dense energy that can hold us back, keep us small.
So, in terms of our personal evolution, it is important to heal these experiences of shame. Release that blueprint stored at the cellular level and energetic body. We can do this through meditation & self knowledge (intellect correction) and then other yogic practices like kriya, breathwork, asana, mantra and ritual.
Shout out to all of you who are already doing this vital personal work and we invite those that haven’t considered it to do so. We have many ways to support you if that feels right.
With love
