FREE TECHNIQUES TO REDUCE STRESS IMMEDIATELY

I’m too self-conscious

Do you sometimes find yourself feeling awkward, shy or resistant to give something new a go? We’ll often say that we are too self-conscious. But what does that really mean?

Well, what it actually indicates is that we’re concerned that we’ll make a fool of ourselves, also known as being beholden by the opinions of others. But we can also find this same reaction in total privacy… for example, would you feel comfortable putting on some music and just dancing your heart out or be ridiculous when no one is watching? For many, the answer is no.

What happens is we become so conditioned to act certain way, we create a kind of prison for ourselves. A box which governs the extent of what we will and won’t do. Including how we use and move our bodies in private, which is really pretty messed up when you think about it!

Many of the practices we share from the Himalayan and Tantric and Kundalini traditions teach us to break down these barriers that confine our experience. To loosen up, to have the freedom to move and dance and use our voices – be loud and wild because we can! To quit being conservative and taking ourselves so damn seriously all the time.

It’s liberating and fun. You should give it a go sometime. Get out of your box and learn how to free yourself from the opinions of others and of your heavily conditioned self!

If you won’t dance unless you’ve had ‘a few cans of courage’ well…..

With love
