FREE TECHNIQUES TO REDUCE STRESS IMMEDIATELY

To drink or not to drink… That is the question?

There can be nothing more frequent than an occasional drink.
-Oscar Wilde

When people start welcoming meditation and other yogic practices into their life, they often wonder if alcohol can stay or should go. You’ll find strong advocates for both positions, so we thought we’d have the conversation.

As always, Yoga is not against anything. There a some beautiful and highly evolved souls who drink occasionally and some violent dense energy beings who don’t touch the stuff.

In India, there is a tradition that uses alcohol as prassad at puja (blessed offerings to eat/drink at ceremony). Some who smoke bucket loads of marijuana like Shiva. Yoga is inclusive of all our diverse expressions!

That being said, it is not ‘recommended’ to get blind drunk… disturbing your nervous system like that is counter-intuitive, but again, you have absolute freedom to make these choices for yourself. No judgement. No rules.

All Yoga invites us to do is to check in with ourselves so we are clear on why we are making the choices we are. This builds our capacity be operating from a more intelligent state… not the auto-pilot of subconscious and social conditioning.

As for the new trend of Beer And Gin Yoga classes? Wonder what the ancient Yogis would have thought about that? Ha!
